Are there any browser, operating system, or other requirements?

The system requirements for your online workspace are minimal.

Supported and Recommended Browsers include:

Google Chrome: 12.x and higher. Click here to download Chrome. Performance is best with Google Chrome browser.

Mozilla Firefox: 4.x and higher (5.x or higher recommended). Click here to download Firefox.

Apple Safari: 5.x and higher. Click here to download Safari. Generally recommended for Macs only.

Microsoft Internet Explorer: Internet Explorer 9; however, your operating system must be either Vista or Windows 7.

In IE9, please use IE9 Document Mode which enables the best functionality and fastest rendering. The IE9 default Browser Mode and Document Mode is IE9 but you may have accidentally changed it.

Other versions of Internet Explorer:

IE8 will work fine if your Operating System has decent RAM and processor capability. However, if you have an old Windows XP, a slow computer, or slow Internet connection, your performance can be sluggish. This is because Internet Explorer 8 is tightly integrated with Windows Operating System and relies on it for performance. In addition, IE8 has a poor Javascript engine (Microsoft released a new powerful Javascript engine with IE9) which means it really was not designed with dynamic Web Applications in mind (just static Web Sites). If your computer is a Windows XP, we recommend that you use either Firefox or Chrome for your workspace account.

In both IE8 and IE9, we recommend that you do not use compatibility mode which really means IE7 from the perspective of the browser engine. Use the IE8 and IE9 Browser Modes/Document Modes respectively.

IE7 is not recommended as performance is sluggish due to the browser's limited number of session connections and obsolete Javascript engine. Support for IE7 is highly limited.

IE6 is not supported; it was never intended to support Web-based applications.

The IE family of browsers can be too complicated for the average user since there are many modes of the same browser version. We generally recommend using one of the other more popular browsers (like Firefox and Chrome) since they comply much better with universally accepted standards of Web browsing. Microsoft is currently working on IE10 which is expected to finally join the family of standards-based browsers to be used for Web-based applications.

Supported Operating Systems include:

Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7

Mac OS X

Linux Ubuntu
