If you have more folders/files that total more than 5GB in size to your online account, we recommend that you use our complimentary file transfer service. This requires that you ship your folders/files to us on a physical medium like an external hard drive. We will then, based on instructions from you, migrate your folders and files directly at our data center. This is the fastest and most effective way to transfer large number of foldersfiles to your online workspace.
For folders/files less that total less than 5GB in size, we recommend that you use CyberDuck . . . one of the world's most popular and user-friendly WebDAV client optimized for file transfers directly from your PC or Mac. We do not recommend that you drag-and-drop folders/files to folders in the WebDAV software that may be part of your operating system (e.g., Map Network Drive on Windows 7). Such software is designed for accessing your online folders and files but not for efficient large-scale transfer of folders/files.
IMPORTANT: You can only transfer folders and files to destinations if you have permission to such destinations.
1. You cannot transfer folders of files to the "dav" level. Think of this as the "Home" of your overall workspace account.
2. You cannot transfer files directly under "Personal Folders", "Teamspace Folders" or "Group Folders". These are root level "folders" similar to drives.
3. You cannot transfer folders directly under "Shared Folders" as these are flat folders shared by other users to access files in them.
To transfer folders and files to locations to which you have permissions, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Download and install the Cyberduck WebDAV client from www.cyberduck.ch on your PC or Mac. Both operating systems are supported.
You may have to install Microsoft .NET on your Windows PC before being able to install the Cyberduck WebDAV client (this will be done as part of the download/installation process).
Step 2: Configure the Cyberduck WebDAV client to connect to your workspace account.
Step 3 (Recommended): Bookmark your new connection.
After you connect and establish a connection to your workspace account, Bookmark the connection for easy access in the future. When you see Group Folders, Personal Folders, Shared Folders root level,
.
Step 4a: Under the Edit menu, select Preferences. Then choose the recommended preferences under General as shown in the screenshot below. In the screenshot below, “Workspace Files” is the Nickname of the Bookmark for your workspace account given in Step 3 above.
Step 4b: Under the Edit menu, select Preferences. Then choose preferences in the Transfers tab, General sub-tab for downloading and uploading folders and files.
Step 4c: Under the Edit menu, select Preferences. Then choose preferences in the Transfers tab, Filter sub-tab. Make sure that the Skip files matching the regular expression: option is checked for both Downloads and Uploads.
Step 5: Upload Folders and Files to your Workspace account.
To upload folders and files, you must have the appropriate permissions (i.e., Manage permissions to the folder to which you are uploading folders). Ask your account administrator if you are not sure.
Important: If you attempt to upload folders to a destination folder to which you have no Manage permissions, you will be constantly prompted for login credentials. This is the way Cyberduck informs you that you do not have Manage permissions. If this happens, you must quit and restart Cyberduck.
Follow the instructions below to upload/transfer folders and files to your workspace account:
